Dental implants
What are Dental Implants?
Dental Implants offer a wonderful solution to the problem of 'the missing tooth', and can in fact be used to replace several teeth. This
can alter the lives of many patients as it can restore appearance, health and functionality of their mouths. They are a very effective
cosmetic dental treatment.
A Dental Implant is a small screw made of titanium, which is a metal that the body easily accepts. It is designed to replace the missing
tooth root and provide a stable foundation for replacement teeth. Dental Implants are placed directly into the jawbone, usually under local
anaesthetic. Over a relatively short period of time, the bone integrates with the surface of the implant, establishing a solid anchor
for replacement teeth.

Following a period of healing, a restoration such as a crown or bridge, can then be placed on top of the implant, or it can be used to
retain a denture. Implants are a permanent solution to replacing missing teeth, and looked after correctly can last a lifetime. For futher
